Where is Moorea located?

Only 10 nautical miles separate Moorea from her sister island of Tahiti. Moorea is easily accessible by ferry or airplane. High-speed catamarans make multiple crossings per day in 30 minutes. Less frequent, are the daily flights from Tahiti which only take 7 minutes. Air Tahiti also has regular flights between Moorea and Huahine, Raiatea and Bora Bora. Introduction to Moorea

Moorea soars magically out of the ocean in an explosion of green velvet. This is exactly what you imagine a South Seas paradise to be.

In fact, many believe Moorea to be the mythical “Bali Hai” from James Michener’s Tales of the South Pacific.  Captivating in her beauty, you’ll see emerald mountains towering over pineapple plantations, white sand beaches and a turquoise lagoon. The north shore of the island is divided by two symmetrical bays — Cook’s Bay and Opunohu Bay. Moorea moves at a slower pace than he big sister Tahiti. Here a carefree existence prevails.  You’ll find the locals to be both relaxed and inviting. It is this carefree attitude that makes Moorea a favorite of Tahitians and tourists alike.

Moorea Green Pearl is one of two golf courses located in French Polynesia, located in the village of Temae.

ACTIVITIES & EXCURSIONS

Moorea is an aquatic paradise. Be sure and go drift snorkeling and feed the sting rays with Moorea Adventure or scuba dive with lemon sharks. You may also paddle an outrigger canoe, hop on a jetski or go deep-sea fishing. Get a bird’s-eye view of the lagoon by hiking to the top of Mou’a Puta (the pierced mountain). For those of you also wanting an interesting and fun lesson in history and culture, we recommend an ATV/Quad tour of the inner island. In Moorea, you will not be at a loss of things to do. As is true on all the islands, please don’t pass up a chance to meet the locals. You’ll see more of Tahitian life when you venture from the hotels.
