All inter-island flights are provided by Air Tahiti. The Air Tahiti network covers 41 islands and offers the most convenient means of transportation between Tahiti and Her Islands. The most popular islands of Bora Bora, Huahine, Raiatea and Rangiroa have several flights daily, while other, less frequented islands may be limited to 1-3 flights a week. In addition, Air Moorea offers a shuttle service connecting Tahiti and Moorea.

Baggage Restrictions, Inter-Island

Normally, when flying inter-island on Air Tahiti, passengers are allowed baggage up to 20 kilos (44 lbs). There is however an exception for divers who may bring 25 kilos (55 lbs). To qualify, you must present your dive certification card and international ticket at the check-in counter.

When Do They Fly?

Air Moorea Flights depart Tahiti every hour on the hour and depart Moorea every hour at a quarter past the hour. The flight between Tahiti and Moorea takes 7 minutes and operates from 6am-6pm with additional weekend evening flights to coincide with the arrival and departure of Air Tahiti Nui (the international carrier).

Air Tahiti operates comfortable ATR and Dornier turbo-prop aircraft: four ATR42-500, five ATR72-500 and two Dornier 228, while Air Moorea uses Britten-Norman and Twin Otter 20-seat aircraft.

The Air Tahiti terminal is located in the same building as the International arrival and departures at Tahiti Faa'a International Airport.

The Air Moorea terminal is an easy, 5-minute walk outside to a separate terminal at Tahiti Faa'a International Airport. If you prefer to have an auto transfer to the Air Moorea terminal, let us know and we will include it in your quote.

The Tahiti Faa'a International Airport is located 4 miles south of Papeete. The cruise ship port and ferry docks are located in downtown Papeete.
